Pajama Lovin’ for Under $25

old navy pajamas

On this Wednesday morning, happiness is staying in my polar bear pajamas until whenever I please! Soaking it in until I start working full time and trade my cozy outfit for a pencil skirt. My closet is certainly full of fun skirts and dresses to choose from, but I don’t think there’s any skirt or work appropriate outfit that will be comfier than flannel pajamas.

A good night’s sleep leaves us feeling refreshed and ready for the day. When it comes to what I sleep in, it has to be comfortable and super cute! You’re right, no one sees my pjs except for me and my cat, but looking good is feeling good in my book. I’ve rounded up a few of the cutest pajamas on the Internet to share with you (and they’re all under $25!) Enjoy!

Pajamas are one of those things that I can never have enough of (similar to my coffee mug obsession.) When I see a cute set of them, I have to buy one in every color. Sometimes I don’t even look because I know I’ll be tempted to buy! One of my favorite places to find cute pajamas on sale is the Victoria’s Secret outlet. I’ve been to several and they always have PJ sets on sale for $19. If you’re ever near by one of the outlets, stop in to see what you can find!

5 Free Ways to Destress

c600x196

Happy Monday! I feel so refreshed after the weekend. The last week has been a thorn in my side and I needed some recovery time. My anxiety was out of control and when this happens, it’s really important to take a step back and relax. I feel so much better now that I wanted to share with you 5 (free!) ways that I relaxed this weekend.

  1. Brew something hot– Whether it be cocoa, coffee, or tea, for whatever reason we feel better when something is warming us from the inside out. It probably stems from our positive association of warm drinks and soup with our parents or even grandparents taking care of us when we were sick as kids.
  2. Help someone else– Doing something good for another person, even if it’s just smiling and asking how they are, takes your focus off of your problems and allows you to think about someone else’s.
  3. Read– Since graduating college, I’ve slowly started to enjoy reading again. It takes my mind away from where I am and all of my worries and lets me think about something else for awhile.
  4. Take a nap– When we’re sick or tired we take naps. The same goes for when we have a lot of worries. Sometimes we need to take a break from our anxiety-filled thoughts and just sleep it off. Waking up after a long rest leaves you with clarity and feeling refreshed.
  5. Go where you feel loved- For me, this means I go home to my parents or if my beau is in town, I go to him. It’s so important to be around people that you feel safe with. Find those people, whether they’re the baristas at a coffee shop or right in your mother’s kitchen, and go spend time with them.

For a Restful Night…

For a Restful Night
I am a terrible sleeper and have been since I was a baby! Last night I was having the worst time sleeping. Tossing and turning for hours on end is just not how I want to spend my sleeping hours. For those of you who are like me I’ve come up with a short list of things that might help create a mind set and space that allows you to hit the sheets with less struggle.
1. Comfy Pjs are a must for a decent sleep. I can’t stand wearing anything that might get twisted around me or pulling at me. I wear short shorts and a soft t- shirt to bed. I’d sleep in my underwear but all I can think of is a fire in the middle of the night and not being able to find my pants!
2. Sleep mist from Bath and Body Works is one of my favorite things! I get the vanilla and lavender scent and spray it on my pillow at night. Aromatherapy really helps some people relax!
3. A down comforter is probably the best bed spread I’ve ever had. I found mine at Marshall’s for $39 in a really pretty ivory/white color. For some people, this might be a little too heavy. Find a comforter in a light color and fabric if down feathers are too warm for you.
4. A pillow can make or break your sleep. I’ve found the square pillows are the best shape for me because I like to sleep on the edge of the pillow for prime breathing space. I can’t stand anything in front of my mouth or nose!
5. Sleeping masks aren’t for everyone but I personally like them if the street lights (or even the moon) is a little too bright for me. On a red eye flight from Los Angeles to DC the flight attendants passed out sleeping masks and ear plugs. I woke up feeling pretty good for someone who had to sleep sitting up.
6. Electric fans have been a God send for my family. We live in the woods and little creatures make freaky noises at night so we sleep with fans on. It acts as a white noise to block out anything that might distract me from the mission of going to sleep and staying asleep.
7. Most nights I like to have a bowl of cereal (usually Cheerios) and milk. For some reason, milk has ingredients that calm and induce sleep. Since I can’t digest milk without the help of something else, I add Cheerios to my night time snack!
