New Amazon Fashion Finds (and closet staples!)

Red Dress | Pink Waffle Knit | Cowl Neck Sweater | Striped Cardigan | Leopard Jacket

Hey everyone! It’s finally fall! Sort of. It’s still 95 degrees everyday here in Texas but according to the calendar it’s pumpkin spice latte season!! And I am here for it!! I rounded up a few of my favorite fall Amazon styles I thought you might love too! I really am trying to build up a capsule wardrobe for each season and I feel like these pieces go with a lot and I’ll be wearing them often.

The red swing dress is super loose and flowy and comes in 5 colors! Normally, I go for navy blue every time but I figured a nice burgundy would be a good addition to my closet.

striped cardigan

The striped cardigan also comes in several color combos and it’s the softest cardigan I’ve ever worn! I really love it and will probably go back and get another.

The leopard print puffy coat is actually reversible and comes with an attached hood! I really like it for the winter months. I’d definitely size down because it runs large!

pink waffle knit

The pink off the shoulder waffle knit top is my new fave cozy top to wear with sweat pants or jeans! You can really do so much with it! It also comes in several colors!

red cowel neck top

Finally, the red cowl neck sweater is super cute with the button details! The only thing I didn’t like was that it comes vacuum packed so when you open it, it’s really wrinkled. Other than that it’s a great buy!

So enjoy shopping! I’m on the hunt for new items to share with you!

Honeymoon Style Sneak Peek!

blue romper and hydrangeas

Hey guys! So I don’t think I’ve mentioned before where David and I are taking our honeymoon! We deliberated for a month or so before choosing (we even had a spreadsheet for each destination we were considering) but we finally decided on ST. LUCIA!!

I can’t tell you how excited I am for our tropical getaway celebrating our marriage! We haven’t been on a trip like this ever before so it’s a long time coming. Cross your fingers my passport comes in the mail soon! It’s taking forever!!!

So I still haven’t packed my bags obviously, but I have a few items in mind that I know I’ll have to bring with me! The first is this super cute romper! I found it at a boutique called Pitaya earlier this summer and haven’t worn it much.

I’m finding that rompers are my go-to style for the summer because they’re so easy to wear and don’t require much effort.

Unfortunately I can’t find the romper anywhere online! I bought it from Pitaya but they no longer carry it. Ugh! I linked some similar ones here and here for you to check out! In the next few weeks I’ll finally be sharing some fall styles I’m loving but it’s too hot to even play dress up for a few minutes here in Texas. So be patient!

Wear to Work Inspiration: Leopard Print

leopard print skirt and bright bag

Yes, I know I’ve been wearing leopard print way too much lately but I’m obsessed! I got this skirt from J. Crew on sale and it’s really cute for work! I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it with pops of neon but I really like the vibrancy!

leopard print skirt

Not gonna lie, when I was outside taking photos of outfits this past weekend, it was hot as blazes and by the time we were done I literally had to go home and shower. Its been 100 degrees every single day for the last two weeks here in Dallas. So I’m ready for fall to come so I can wear this skirt and a million other leopard print things I’ve snuck into house that David doesn’t know about (kidding, sort of).

You can find the my leopard skirt here and it’s on sale right now! Gotta love that!

Mental Health During Wedding Planning

Oh. My. Goodness. I am 80-some days away from marrying David and I couldn’t be more excited! It’s really starting to feel REAL. We’ve been engaged since May 2018 and up until now, everything has been about paying for the wedding. But now we’re getting into the details! However, with all the details and exciting moments comes a lot of stress. This brings me right back to mental health. The ups and downs you’ll experience throughout the whole planning process means you’ll really need to be in touch with your mental health. Here’s how I’m learning to do that!

Accept How You Feel

Our hearts can be deceitful, but when your heart and your head are saying the same thing, it’s ok to feel a certain way. For example, when I went for my first dress fitting, I stepped into my gown and didn’t feel so hot. It was too big on me and wasn’t tailored to my body. Then the seamstress suggested I wear a bustier under the dress to keep my stomach tight and everything lifted. I put it on and then got my dress all situated and I felt hot and suffocated. But I still went with her recommendation even though I didn’t like how I looked or felt. Both my heart and my head said this wasn’t a good idea but I felt bad for not wanting to do what was suggested.

So now I have to tell my seamstress that I need an alternative! I didn’t want to accept how I felt because I didn’t think I should be feeling or thinking it. But you know what? I’m allowed to feel and think that an alternative is better. And so are you.

Have Someone to Talk to

Talking to someone about how you feel or what you’re experiencing can be so helpful! Throughout the planning (and paying!) process I’ve desperately needed someone to share my thoughts with. My mom, a coworker, my best friends, and my clinical psychologist have been lifesavers! Find someone you trust to share frustrations, excitement, and worries with in relation to your wedding.

Don’t Constantly Plan

David and I have had over a year to plan our wedding so we were able to take some time off from planning now and then. You will drive yourself crazy if you constantly plan! You need to take a break from it every now and then. David and I have found other things to do together that don’t involve wedding stuff and its really awesome to just live normally for a little while. It’s a good mental break!

Write Down Your Worries and Fears

Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with worry and fear regarding our wedding that I can’t contain it anymore. So I write down what’s troubling me. Sometimes all it takes is a sentence or two, other times its an entire page or more. Writing it down really helps me think through it and verbalize it as well. I think a lot of people can benefit from this practice!

Leopard Print Trend This Fall

leopard print style

Oooh you guys leopard print is in this fall! I’ve been seeing it everywhere and it’s delightful! It’s to the point where I think it might be a new neutral in wardrobes. And I’m ok with that. I first started seeing it when I was browsing the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and knew it was going to be big this fall. I’ve since seen it all over Amazon and in other stores as well.

I searched all over to find some to share with you and I think you’ll love them! Fair warning, don’t just Google leopard print, you get a lot of tacky lingerie results before anything else comes up. Yikes. Anyway, my affiliate links to everything are below!
