Travel Edition: Niagra Falls!

I took a trip to Niagra Falls last Autumn. It was my first time at this beautiful place. The falls were incredible to see. I’ve never heard such a powerful noise aside from a military jet taking off. Walking around the park was absolutely gorgeous with the leaves starting to turn and the abundant sunshine. A lot of wildlife was present as well. I remember my grandma telling me about a trip she took there years ago with my grandpa. Speaking of my grandpa, his birthday was two days ago. He would have been 102! I’m glad I could visit this place in his memory.

Towards the end of the afternoon, I ended up crossing the bridge from America to Canada just to say I had been across the border up there. Walking over I had a lovely view of the falls and the river. Upon entering, I went into a Canadian gift shop to get a post card and maple syrup. After about 30 minutes, I headed back to the border and waited in line to get back in my country. They found it odd that I went to Canada for such a short time. The lady reviewing my passport was not happy to let me in but seeing as how I was qualified she had no choice. Being back in your own country, even if you were only gone for a short time, is always a blessing.

Enjoy the photos!

The Air of Somewhere New: A Photo Diary

Today we have Mikayla, from the blog The Taste Tracker, guest posting and sharing her photos from a trip she took to Rockport, Massachusetts! Read on to hear about her adventure and don’t forget to check out her blog!

Last weekend, my fam and I packed up our things and quickly scurried up North to the perfectly quaint, beautiful, and scenic Rockport, Massachusetts. Don’t think you know where Rockport is? Don’t worry, you do. Remember the town that Ryan Reynolds brings Sandra Bullock to in The Proposal (cause I know you all have seen it)? Guess what: that’s not “Alaska.” That’s Rockport, Mass.

The 3 days that we spent there were perfect. Wandering around a seaside village in great weather and with great people simply cannot be beat. Rockport was never still. From the people ducking in and out of the little boutiques and bakeries that lined Bearskin Neck, to the faint ocean breeze that was always drifting in the air, a warmed-up version of your laid-back beach look was necessary.

To me, linen pants on the beach are so fashion-forward. On this trip, my sister and I had the best of both worlds–she had a crisp, beige pair of linen pants, while I sported a pair of Aztec-patterened linen pants. As I said before, it was a little breezy, so my oh-so-versatile chambray button-up was a complete life/outfit saver. And of course, my clean-cut, leather pair of Birkenstock-esque sandals topped this nautical look off. Whops, can’t forget my circle lenses that I am completely, totally, and utterly OBSESSED with at the moment.

Enough fashion jibber-jabber. I hope you all enjoy this little peek into my weekend spent in this quaint, little sea-faring village. I want to share this with you all because appreciate is better when shared.

After checking out this post, I hope it inspired you all to get out of your house/apartment, take a trip up the road and EXPLORE. Taste the taste and smell the smell of somewhere new.
