The Campus Safari

Campus SafariHappy Friday everyone! Enjoy the last few of em’ before school starts again! I’m pretty sure a bunch of you are headed back to campus and part of me is jealous. I loved being at school and even enjoyed the dorm life. Since I graduated in May, I’m going to reminisce for a little while. Before I do that, I’m leaving you with this adorable back to school look. I think the safari style jackets (or military style if you prefer) are going to be pretty popular this fall. I’m definitely falling in love with them. They’re a great transition item to have while you’re waiting for serious fall weather to start. I’ll let you know when I find a good deal on them!

I’m loving a leather backpack too! I used to love tote bags for lugging by stuff across campus but I’ve since determined that it’s absolutely terrible for your back. A cute pack like the one above is a great, classy alternative to the tote.

Let me know if you find either of these items on sale anywhere!

Autumn in a Dress

Autumn in a Dress

Autumn makes people think of Ugg boots, hoodies, and scarves. For me, it’s a chance to wear darker colors dresses with great prints like the one above. I absolutely adore that dress! I rarely wear dresses simply because the place I live finds sweatpants acceptable for almost every activity and wearing something that’s “dressed up” results in stares and confused faces.

I love the warmth of the dark blue, red, and tan. This style of dresses if flattering on most figures because it ties at the thinnest point on your body. The heels also elongate your legs creating a taller, thinner silhouette! I’m pretty sure most women can pull off a look similar to this. Clothing is really about how you balance out your figure.

What to Wear for a Night Out

Date Night

Going out with friends or on a date is always a great occasion to dress up! And I love to! As always, a little black dress is the classiest choice a woman can make. Adding some gold to that dress is even better. I have a warmer skin tone, so gold tones are better on me. People with lighter tones might consider silver instead.

Some may call it a faux pa, but I love a hint of navy with black. It just adds a little pizazz and mystery. You might also consider a deep, earthy red if navy isn’t your thing. Complete this look with a musky, feminine perfume and you’ve got yourself a hot outfit!

Pink for Summer Makeup

Pink for Summer

“Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed!” Oh Elle Woods, you have the best quotes. But seriously, pink is so signature for summer. Last summer, coral tried to take over and that didn’t last (though I like the color). I’ve put together a little palette of my favorite shades of pink and different ways to wear them.

By no means am I insinuating that every girl can afford these expensive brands. Unlike some fashion/beauty bloggers, I understand that $40 lipstick is out of reach for most girls. Heck, Revlon lipstick is becoming a tad too pricey for me. I have found suitable alternatives to these fancy products at Target (I would say Wal-Mart but half the time people open the make up to test it first. Ew!).

Some of my favorite brands are ELF, NYC, Rimmel London, and Nyx. I also have noticed that towards the end of each season, they seem to put a lot of their make up on sale. Keep that in mind next time you’re in need of new beauty products!
