Pink Shopping Haul

pink haul

Today I’m super excited to share with you my fun Pink Victoria’s Secret haul! Every once in a while they send me really good coupons in the mail and I go splurge on a few pretty things. I’m not the type to willingly shell out $10.50 for underwear, so when there’s a sale and a coupon to go with it, I sprint to the nearest store!

Pink and Victoria’s Secret sent me a “free underwear with purchase” card so I went into both stores and bought a thing or two to qualify for the underwear. Spending the majority of my time in Pink, I got suckered into their 5 for $27.50 deal on undies. I love good deals, what can I say? Especially when that deal was paired with a $10 off a purchase of $35 or more card (I bought a water bottle I had been wanting.)

cute pink undies

The two free pairs of undies I got were so cute and I love the little sayings on them! You may be the only one who sees them, but you should still feel confident when you wear them. The best way to enjoy Pink’s amazing deals is buy signing up for an “Angel card” and using it every time you make a purchase. I’m not a fan of having a credit card for every store, but the coupons and offers you get when you have one from VS are great! A little bonus- right now Pink is giving away free fanny packs and koozies with any purchase! Go enjoy if you can!

Outlet Shopping Haul (and tips to find the deals)

jcrew loafers

I am so excited to share with you a few fab finds from my recent shopping trip to the Premium Outlets! Outlet shopping is one of my favorite things to do when I’m visiting a new city. Each region of the country I think has totally different inventory and it makes the trip that much more exciting. The best outlets I’ve been to have been in Orlando and San Antonio. For whatever reason, these states are sent all the goodies!

My first and and probably best find are these orchid-colored J Crew loafers! These pretty things are normally $98 at the outlet but I scored them on clearance for $30. They’re suede and perfect for fall!

statement jewelry preppy

This next piece is also from J Crew and retails at $52.50, I found it on clearance for $15.95! Normally, I don’t like to spend much on jewelry unless it’s a really quality piece (think real pearls). When I saw this my eyes lit up though. I love the coral and tortoiseshell pieces on the necklace. They really make it pop!

victorias secret bralette review

One of my favorite outlet stores to go into is the Victoria’s Secret outlet. I usually find some amazing deals here! Typically, I don’t like to share my bra and undie selections with everyone, but this was such a great deal I think I should. This particular bralette was on sale for $3.99! Does it give the best lift in the world? No. But if you’re staying at home or it’s laundry day, then it’s a must-have.

pink lace bra

Again, I don’t like to share my undergarments with people but this was another great deal. This Victoria’s Secret bra was in a bin of a thousand others just like it, all for $6.99. It has great lift to it but not the best coverage. Ideally, you would wear it underneath something that didn’t need any extra padding.

banana republic fall haul

Getting to the end of my shopping haul, I found this beautiful, soft, cream-colored jacket for my mom! I raided the clearance rack when I got to the Banana Republic store and saw it. I didn’t even think about it before I snatched it up and bought it. The tag price was $119 and the clearance price was $17.99. Did I mention how cute it is?

Outlet shopping is one of those things that’s a hit or miss. Most of the time, I can find something great to bring home at a good price. The key to shopping at these places is consistency. You can’t go every few months and find a steal or even a deal. Going at least once a month is the best way to find things at low prices. Stores mark merchandise down usually twice a month and there are plenty of savvy shoppers that even know the days they do it.  Shop often!

Leave me a comment with your favorite find in this haul! Follow me on Facebook and Instagram for easy updates!

Weekend Projects Perfect for the Winter Months

weekend_wearHappy Saturday friends! I’m glad I have the weekend off so I can vegetate on the couch and catch up on my sleep. There’s nothing I rather do right now than sit in my pjs by the warm fire and drink my coffee. Shocking isn’t it?

Last night my baby sister, Rebecca, and I stayed up late watching Disney movies. We started out with the Cheetah Girls 3 and ended with Pocahontas. According to her, my Disney persona is Governor Radcliffe and my cat, Tanzie, is his dog Percy. Apparently, this is what I look like in Tiffany’s. Laugh if you must.

Anyway, if you’re looking for things to do this weekend I’ve come up with a list of things that I SHOULD be doing but I’m not.

  • Organize my sock drawer. Seriously, how on Earth did my t shirts end up in there?
  • Pack up the summer clothes still hanging in my closet.
  • Touch up the base boards in my room.
  • Style my desk so I actually want to sit at it.
  • Reorganize my jewelry box.
  • Clean out the attic and go through grandma’s silver dinnerware.
  • Get rid of junk I don’t need. There’s so much of it accumulated under my bed.

Seriously, I recommend doing this while it’s still cold outside and there’s nothing to do anyway. Who wants to clean the house when the birds are chirping and flowers are blooming in April? Plus, you can do this in your PJs (see picture above).

Let me know what your weekend plans are in a comment below!

Finals Week Study Session Checklist

finals_weekLast week and this week I’ll be preparing for my final exams in my final semester of college. This time of the year is exhausting and full of sleep deprivation. I have a paper to work on right now actually. It’s usually about finals week when I find a new show I have to watch on Netflix or a hobby I find interesting. Anything to distract myself!

In true college kid fashion, we sport our sweatpants and a Starbucks coffee cup every day of the week leading up to when we take our finals. There are always a few who found ways around this or even prepared months in advance for these all-important few weeks. These are the same ones who look at you perplexed when you say you’ve barely slept all week and have been eating easy mac and cheese at least once a day.

For your convenience, I’ve included a checklist of things to bring with you to the library for your 8 hour study sessions:

  • Highlighters
  • Spare notebook paper
  • Index cards
  • Fine tip pens
  • Antioxidant enriched teas to keep your immune system healthy
  • Motrin for headaches
  • Tissues for your emotional breakdown
  • Earbuds
  • Chargers
  • Small blanket because the library is always cold
  • Carryout/Delivery menu for late night cravings
  • Cheap pair of reading glasses to use when your eyes start to strain
  • Protein Bars
  • Travel mug
  • Textbooks

How to Get in the Mood to do Homework

Good morning loves! Today is a busy day of homework for me as I try to cram everything in before my weekend starts. If you’d like to know what I’ve got on my plate for this week’s assignments I have 3 discussion forum posts and 10 responses, 2 quizzes, and one paper due by Sunday. I, quite honestly, would like to hide underneath my blankets and pout about the work I have to do instead of actually doing it.

I’ve determined that a strategy like the one I suggested just doesn’t fly with professors. Let’s pray my Thursday is as productive as it needs to be. Here are a few things I’m doing to get in the homework mode!

Brewing my coffee:

morning_coffeeIs there anything better than a fresh cup of coffee in the morning? I think not. I’m going to be drinking quite a few cups of it I think. That wonderful aroma that fills the kitchen just makes me smile. When I pour it into a favorite mug of mine, it doubles that happy factor. My final touches are French Vanilla creamer or whatever seasonal creamer is in at the moment (cheers for Pumpkin Spice) and whipped cream. Suddenly, sitting down at my desk isn’t such a big deal anymore.

Study music:

I get my best studying done when I don’t have anything to distract me- including sone lyrics. Turn on the easy listening station on the radio or create a station on Pandora. No lyrics whatsoever if you want to be successful in your work endeavors!

Comfy clothes:

No, I don’t mean your pajamas! Something you can sit for hours in and still feel at ease and be productive. In other victorias_secret_pinkwords, sweatpants are acceptable as long as they aren’t ones you sleep in. I enjoy wearing ones I got from Victoria’s Secret Pink with a little hoodie or something. They just make homework less unhappy!

Light a candle:

Seriously, do it! I like scents that have vanilla or lavender in them. They calm and relax your mind while also making the room smell pretty. I also am loving the Bath and Body Works collection this fall.

Give your desk a make over:

work_spaceHaving a pretty desk makes sitting at it much easier. I’m trying to create a space for myself that is relaxing but makes me feel like I can run the world (think Beyonce’s song). Adequate lighting is probably the most important thing you can have too. Also, add a collage of things that inspire you to a bulletin board that hangs on the wall behind your desk. Clip images from Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar for chic pretty things. Check my Pinterest board for my personal desk inspiration!
