Good morning! I’m writing this from a hotel room in Ohio as I make my way across the mid-west heading to Kansas City. Making this big move was nothing short of scary for me as I’m a Maryland-girl at heart, but every so often we all have to go outside of our comfort zones. I’m so glad that I’m stepping outside of mine just in time for Valentine’s Day!
David, my boyfriend, moved to Kansas City last month and now I’m joining him in this new city. It’s our first Valentine’s together and as per social norms I told him that he didn’t need to get me anything. Knowing that this actually means the opposite, he has a surprise for me! Luckily, I’m an easy girl to shop for (at least I think). Men on the other hand, can be a little more difficult! I’ve come up with a list of Valentine’s Day gifts for the man in your life. This should at least steer you in the right direction! Little tip: It doesn’t have to be pink and covered in hearts to be a sweet gift either. Go with what your man likes!
Under Armour Men’s Hoodie / Robert Wayne Men’s Dress Shoes /
Men’s Watch Box / Rawlings Baseball Stitch Card Case /
SMS Audio Over-Ear Storm Trooper Headphones / Vineyard Vines Men’s Hat /
Uniqlo Men’s Belt / Kiel James Patrick Fisherman Bracelet /
Prospector Co. Burrough’s Shaving Cream / Wine Bottle Opener /
Team Snape White Coffee Cup / Mast Brothers Chocolate Coffee Chocolate Bar /
Stainless Steel Coffee Press
Hopefully some of these suggestions will bode well with your man! If anything, making him a nice dinner or just doing something he really enjoys can be a great gift as well. Leave a comment with gift ideas you have!
Hello beautiful! It’s another Monday morning and I’m so glad it’s the first day of February! I can finally decorate everything with pink and red hearts and not feel silly for it. It’s a holiday that women tend to love and men often think is made up by Hallmark. Whatever the case may be, I enjoy a day that I have an excuse to decorate for. If you’re single though, Valentine’s Day is kind of salt in the wound. It just isn’t a fun holiday without a boyfriend. Trust me, I’ve been there! Instead of focusing on what might be lacking in your life, focus on what you do have: girl friends!
Celebrating Galentine’s Day
The concept of ‘Galentine’s Day’ is all about celebrating the friendships you have with your best gal pals. It’s a great idea that so many women have embraced as part of their Valentine’s festivities! While many ladies might enjoy a night on the town or a movie in, I’ve got a few much more creative ideas for you to consider this year!
-Wine & Design Event: Having been to several of these paint and sip parties, I can tell you that they’re a lot of fun! I usually go to a Wine & Design studio, but many will also come to your home for a private party if you have enough people. See what paintings they have available to do for Valentine’s and then book your day!
-Tassel Garland Party: These decorative pieces have become a favorite for many! Why not get the girls together and make them? From my own experience, I can tell you that it is time consuming so if you want something a little faster, this company offers already made tassels that you just have to organize and string to your liking!
-Cake Pop Decorating: I just love cake pops and gained a bit of Christmas weight from eating too many. A great Galentine’s Day might include decorating these tasty desserts! Read the decorations for making the balls several days before hand because there are quite a few steps you have to take before the decorating can begin. Have everyone bring something fun to decorate them with like sprinkles or crushed up Oreos!

Valentine’s Day is two weeks away! Some people love to celebrate while others prefer to make snide remarks about it being a made up holiday. Whatever your feelings of the day that focuses on love, I rounded up a few of my favorite V-Day gifts for women. Dropping hints to guys sometimes just doesn’t work, so maybe an entire blog post on great gifts will. Whatever his budget, he will find something here that’s special just for you!
Valentine’s Gift Ideas
I love my Valentine’s Day to be traditional with yummy chocolates and roses! A card with a special message inside is always something I treasure too. Last year, my dad gave my mom six roses and a little box of chocolates with a card. It was simple but sweet. Sometimes the little things mean the most! Hello sweet friends! I hope your Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day was lovely. Mine certainly was. I gave my wonderful mom a nautical themed charm bracelet that she was surprised by! The small beads were blue rhinestones and the 4 bigger charms were a sail boat, sea horse, beach chair, and heart. She gave me a bag full of cooking goodies I’ll be needing for whenever I move out and get my own place! She’s always thinking ahead and encouraging me that someday (hopefully soon) I’ll have my first job. There were also a few chocolate things in my surprise bag, most of which I’ve already devoured!
The biggest surprise of all was the dozen roses that were sent to me by someone very special to me. I was at work when they were delivered, but when I got home there was a note on the box and gorgeous magenta, yellow, and white roses inside! Nothing brings a smile to my face and energy to the air like flowers in the house! They roses are currently sitting on my vanity in a gold vase by my mirror.
I’m such a girly-girl when it comes to things like this. These little gestures and sweet things mean the world to me! Apparently, they mean just as much to my kitty-cat, Puddin’. Once I got the flowers out of their comfy bed in the box, my cat jumped right in, sat down, and made himself a little hiding place. It was a lovely Valentine’s Day for all!
Happy Valentine’s Day! I absolutely adore this day for so many reasons. I love roses, chocolates, champagne, sweet little surprises, kisses, hugs, and pretty jewelry more than most girls I know! It’s just an all-around great holiday (even if it’s slightly made-up by Hallmark).
In celebration of this pink and red event, I raided my Polyvore closet and picked out my dream outfit for today. Needless to say Kate Spade was in abundance and pink was the main color. For the few lucky women who really do get to wear something cute like this tomorrow, I envy you! It just turns me into a pouty four year old when I see your fabulous photo shoot pictures on Instagram. My outfit of the day is unfortunately an apron, red J Crew button up, and black leggings. Working retail on Valentine’s is not fun! Neither is job hunting.
I don’t know how you’re spending this special day, but I hope you get to spend it in something pretty! My outfit inspiration here was a combination of things I saw on my Instagram feed and in my own photos. Things that sparkle like these gorgeous Kate Spade heels always catch my eye and remind me of why I love being a girl and why I blog. I just can’t help but fall in love with lovely things. Valentine’s Day is no exception!
