Our Personalized Guest Book from Purple Trail!

wedding guest book

Eeek! I’m so excited to share another sneak peek of our wedding details! I teamed up with PurpleTrail.com to create this really beautiful wedding guest book for our guests to sign on our big day. For our wedding day, I didn’t want to go over the top with personalized details because it’s overwhelming to manage and its just another stress-inducing thing for me to handle. However, small touches like a personalized wedding guest book can be a really nice addition to the big day.

A really neat thing you can do to customize your guest book is add custom pages! Believe it or not, this isn’t expensive to do and it makes signing a guest book more of an experience. We chose to do a fun page where people sign their names, offer advice, three words that describe us, and their wishes for us. You can even add a picture in the corner of . I chose a photo of David proposing to me!

Guest books are such an important part of a wedding day because they preserve the memory of everyone that was there to celebrate with you. And 50 years later you can look back at everyone who was there and appreciate that special moment in time frozen in your book! How wonderful is that?! I highly recommend browsing Purple Trail’s guest book selection. Even the cover was totally customized. If you’re getting married, enjoy every moment and detail of wedding planning! And if you’re not, share Purple Trail with someone you know who is!

Our Highland Park Village Engagement Photos

You guys I’ve been so excited to share these pictures with you! David and I took our engagement photos a few weekends ago and I’m over the moon with how they turned out! Our photographer Luisa is amazing and she and her husband have such an eye for capturing these special moments. We went to Highland Park Village to take some photos along the tree lined shopping areas and overgrown ivy walls. It was so pretty and just how I wanted it. Then we made our way over to Flippen Park to take some shots in the gazebo there and by the fountain.

I wanted our engagement photos to be really classic and something that reflected us. I knew taking photos in a grassy field outside the city was way not our style, so we chose to stay in the city. Highland Park Village is where Dallas’ top 1% go to shop. It’s a really lovely place and so much fun to stroll around with a cup of coffee. Lord knows I can’t afford to shop there yet!

David is wearing a suit from Brooks Brothers and I’m wearing a Ralph Lauren gown. I actually found my dress on eBay for $50 and got tons of compliments on it! Anyway, I can’t wait to show you the photo we choose for our save the dates we’re sending out in January! Hint: It isn’t a photo in this blog post!

Dallas Blogger Brunch at Pie Tap

dallas blogger brunch

Happy first week of spring! I’m so excited that the winter is behind us and we’re able to bring out the patio furniture and start soaking up the sun. Dallas has been warming up in the last few weeks and every good Dallas blogger (including myself!) has been stocking up on spring clothing! Last Saturday morning, I met up with a few other bloggers for brunch and let me just say that the host, Miss Rhonda Jenkins of The Skinny Arm blog, did such an amazing job organizing our brunch! Check out the details below!

I always love getting together with other bloggers to exchange ideas, tips, and just enjoy the company of other bloggers. The group of girls that came together for brunch at Pie Tap the other day were amazing! They were all so talented and totally inspired me to do more on my blog and get outside of my comfort zone. For example, I’ve been playing around with the idea of getting a photographer to start doing my photos instead of my boyfriend, David. Even though I want my blog to grow, spending money on my style blog isn’t something I’m totally comfortable with. After chatting over brunch and getting a little encouragement from the girls, I think I might just start shopping around for photographers!

Let’s talk about how beautiful and tasty our brunch was though. First of all, the table setting was stunning with the floral garland by Elise Woods (check her blog out here) and adorable geode place cards by Scribble Lettering. All of these little touches just make such a huge impact on how the table ends up looking!

Pie Tap Pizza in Uptown

If you’re in the Dallas area, then you need to check out where we had brunch! Pie Tap Pizza Workshop and Bar is all about handcrafted pizzas and delicious, 5-ingredient dough! I got the margherita pizza and oh my word, it was divine. Perfect crispy crust, fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, and fresh basil leaves. YUM! We also tried their house made doughnuts with local Texas honey and they were so tasty!

I’m really thankful for the girls at Dallas Blogger Brunch for sharing their stories and successes and being open about the not so glamorous side of blogging you can’t see. It isn’t just brunches and pretty outfits, it’s actual work too!

Must-Have Weekend Outfit

cute outfits for the weekend

Since Christmas has been over for awhile (sadly) I’ve been so excited to share this adorable top with you guys! It was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend’s mom and it’s seriously my favorite thing in my closet right now. As a fashion blogger, I’m always on the lookout for something cute I can share with you. With the weekend starting, this is the perfect “outfit of the day” to share with you!

outfit of the day

Though my weekend may not be as exciting as yours (I’m going grocery shopping), I still like to wear something that makes me feel confident. This is one of those great day time outfits that works for almost anything you’ll be doing! For whatever reason, a good baseball hat is my favorite weekend accessory (mine’s from Marley Lilly!) A great pair of jeans is also a classic must-have in any girl’s weekend wardrobe (link to mine here).

Let’s talk about the cutest part of this post- my top! The plaid trim pulls this outfit together so nicely. It’s chic because of the peplum but still casual thanks to the classic pattern. When my boyfriend, David, and I venture out to Trader Joe’s this weekend, you’ll find me wearing this again. Here’s the link to my top! Enjoy!

New Year’s Eve Style Picks

new years eve 2017

Hello lovely! I hope your Christmas was wonderful and full of surprises. Mine certainly was! I spent Christmas in San Antonio with my boyfriends family and we had a ball. Of course, I missed my own family in my home state of Maryland, but this was just as nice! It seems like the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve is so rushed that I don’t even get time to enjoy the little break or the good sales going on.

Speaking of New Year’s Eve, I’ve been combing my closet for something to wear this weekend and nothing seems to scream “wear me!”. I started browsing a few blogs for inspiration and thought I’d share a few New Year’s Eve outfit ideas with you! I want my life to sparkle and be exciting, and my style should reflect that! Enjoy your New Year’s parties and adventures!
