Starbucks on a Monday

Oh Monday, it’s you again. I thought my weekend would last a little longer. Apparently, I was wrong. Regardless, I think I’ll carry on with my life and pretend that you aren’t the bane of everyone’s existence. Pouring my morning coffee in my favorite mug always gets me going on this dreaded day. Add a little pumpkin spice creamer to my java and I’ll be able to smile a little brighter. I thought about heading to Starbucks before work to use a coupon they sent me. It was something like “buy any holiday drink before 11am and get two bonus stars for gold card members.” Yes, shut up I’m a gold star member and proud of it. Forget the fact that I’ve spent well over $175 in the last year to be a “VIP customer.” It’s easier to forget about this little detail because all it does is remind me that I’m a total fool. I think I’m going to skip using that coupon and save the money for the upcoming Christmas season.

Speaking of Christmas and coffee, I think we all know a coffee addict in some form or another. Why not check Starbucks’ online store of really great gifts. I never bothered to check out their website until I was craving a frappucino the other day. I’m so glad I found it! I have a pretty good idea of what I’m going to get people for Christmas now. I am also finding new ways to restrain myself from buying every cute thing I see. Hopefully by showing you my favorite things I can control my urge today.

#Throwbackthursday and Golden Gifts to Give

Happy #throwbackthursday! In honor of this weekly social media event, here’s an awkward photo of me as a child holding a chicken with one of my besties, Jessica (we’re still tight even now!)

Now for something that you can’t laugh hysterically at- gift giving. For the chic ladies in your life (or even yourself), I’ve found 7 gifts that are golden and worthy of giving. I don’t mean to drop Christmas on you right now but let’s face it, it’s coming fast! Starbucks has their seasonal menu and signature red cups in stock, the stores are literally decking the halls, commercials mention their great sales for the holidays, and Hallmark is now playing their Christmas movies again. So yes, the season of madness and magic has begun.

  1. gold_decor‘Hello Sunshine’ Ashley Brooke Designs mug- $23
  2. Gold mosaic vase at Pier 1 Imports– $49
  3. Miss Dior Eau de Parfum at Sephora– $70
  4. ‘Return to Tiffany & Co’ 18k gold earrings (cheaper bought in silver) at Tiffany’s– $550
  5. Paint Brush Thank You Cards at Kate Spade– $20
  6. Mariposa Swirled Champagne Flute at Barney’s Warehouse– $35
  7. Pave Watch at Kate Spade– $225

I realize that some of this is quite expensive but it was so pretty I couldn’t help but include it! In the past though, I have found some of the best, unique gifts at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s. I don’t mind shopping at the mall and finding gifts there as well but I’m a college student, paying full price isn’t my favorite thing to do.

Hopefully, this gave you all some ideas for the Christmas season! Feel free to pin this image to use later or to share with your followers!

Pretty Wallpaper and Big Dreams

Happy Tuesday friends. I’m feeling the November air right now and its rather brisk! I noticed Starbucks has their red cups out now signaling the start of an intense holiday season. Bring on the peppermint mocha coffee drinks. Starbucks gets way too much of my money this time of the year. Regardless, I absolutely love the little things that make each season special.

Speaking of special, when I started this blog I knew I would eventually come up with big plans for it. I didn’t know what those plans were, but I knew they would be amazing. Slowly, I’ve begun to understand what I want to do with this blog and where I want it to go. Here are 5 things I’ve been dreaming and thinking about:

  1. Open an Etsy store associated with what I write and how I live
  2. Do product reviews for boutiques and other companies with products I actually believe in
  3. Create my own coffee mug and stationary line
  4. Design a small collection of accessories
  5. Become the new Lauren Conrad

Am I California dreaming? Maybe so, but it just sounds like so much fun! Girls like me have so many ideas floating around in their heads that we can’t choose one thing to do, we want to choose them all. I think the first thing I’ll start out with is an Etsy store selling cute prints of pretty things and sayings. I’m actually including this little design I configured the other day for you to save and make as desktop wallpaper (it’s super cute!) Let me know what you think of my ideas in the comments below! If you have any tips, then I would love to hear them as well!

At Home Coffee Station

butfirstcoffeeThis post is for my fellow coffee lovers out there. I’m a coffee addict. I have one cup in the morning and two in the late afternoon. Its my ritual and I love it. Additionally, I collect coffee mugs. They just make me happy. I also take my coffee with seasonal creamer… lots of creamer. Right now I’m on a pumpkin spice kick. That will end probably mid November when the radio stations start to play Christmas music and I get a hankering for peppermint mocha everything.

In my future home, I hope to be able to have enough counter space for this wonderful little thing called a coffee station. After seeing an awesome one online (seriously, check out that link), I was inspired and created a little list of things you might want in your at-home-station.

1. A collection of fabulous mugs like the C. Wonder mug I featured.

2. An espresso machine or just regular old coffee maker (duh).

3. Starbucks’ professional-in-store syrup pumps for that shot of vanilla you have to have.

4. Biscotti for the slower days when you can actually enjoy your coffee.

5. Stir sticks so you don’t dirty a million spoons.

6. Multiple kinds of bean roasts so you have options (remember, this is for coffee addicts).

7. Sugar stored in a mason jar so everyone knows your awesome at Pinterest.

8. Whipped cream for the illusion of your coffee being made by a barista, oh wait, it was, wasn’t it? Winky face.

9. Spice shakers filled with cinnamon and other heavenly spices to top off that latte.

I can think of a few other things I might have on hand as well such as agave nectar for the friend that comes over and cringes at the chemicals you put in your drink. Possibly a few Starbucks recipes so you can make professional grade lattes. Whatever you fancy!

I got tired of spending $4 on a latte at ‘Bucks and decided to start drinking more of my own creations at home. It saves a fortune. I’m such a typical American girl when it comes to my coffee. It has to be flavored and named something complicated in order for me to drink it. What’s your typical Starbucks order look like? Share with me below!

Outfit of the Day Inspiration

Good morning! First of all, thank God its Friday! Secondly, too bad I have homework! Oh how lovely will the days be when I no longer have pointless homework assignments. 9 weeks and counting y’all!

starbucks_frappucinosYesterday, little sister and I went to Starbucks with her best friend Grace and did our homework together. It was a sunny day with a hint of fall in the air. Ha, imagine that! It’s only October after all. Sarcasm intended. We ordered our drinks (vanilla bean frappucino with a pump of raspberry, pumpkin spice frappucino, and a java chip frappucino) and sat down to begin conquering a pile of homework that could rival Mt. Vesuvius. In between laughter and giggles I think we actually got a few things done.

And in case you were wondering what my #ootd was, I’ll enlighten you with a few pictures of my ensemble. Necklace is from Charming Charlies. Chambray shirt is from American Eagle. Shorts are from J Crew.

Enjoy your Friday!
