What to Expect for Mental Health in March

It’s finally March! Thank the good Lord we are out of the worst parts of winter. January and February are so hard on my mental health just because of all the cloud cover, the cold temperatures, and the dead vegetation. I live for spring, however! But with a new month comes new mental health considerations. Every month I try to outline what you may experience over the coming weeks and personally, I’ve found that it’s pretty accurate. Here’s what to expect for the month of March!

what to expect for mental health in march

I’ve already found that I’m extremely motivated but also kind of have some fuzzy thoughts. The trees are blooming here in Dallas and I can already feel my allergies forming. Combine that with my high-anxiety right now and it’s honestly hard have a coherent thought sometimes.

It gets better though! Once the sun starts shining and temperatures stay warmer, you’ll have a little more energy and seasonal affective disorder will likely start to fade if you’ve been experiencing that. One of my favorite quotes for pushing through my depression during the winter is by Albert Camus:

“In the midst of winter, I found there was within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger- something better, pushing right back”

Don’t you just love that? I feel like March is the month where I begin to see that “invincible summer” appear. It’s a month where I’m reminded to keep going and keep trying even during the darkest of days. And as you’ve probably experienced, depression can cause you to have ups and downs when you least expect them. But if you’re like me, you always somehow find your strength! Keep going! Keep seeking the help you need! Spring is just about here!

Nordstrom Leith Dress Dupe for Under $25!

nordstrom leith dress dupe

Hey everyone! In my search for spring style inspiration, I’d been seeing this ruched tank top dress everywhere! I finally did a little research to see where people were buying them- Nordstrom! I absolutely loved how simple and comfy it looked but what I didn’t love was the price – $45. Not bad for a dress, but made out of tee shirt material? Nah, I’m good. So I went on the hunt for a good dupe and I found one at Amazon for $21!

Pros: Looks identical to the Nordstrom dress and comes in multiple colors! Cons: Its definitely more of a body con dress and isn’t particularly stretchy. So I’m wearing a size medium (I’m a size 8) if you want a looser fit, I definitely recommend sizing up! This is one of those dresses I can only wear on my “skinny days”, which admittedly are few and far between. Any sort of belly bloat and this dress is probably going to show it. So like I said, size up!

Outfits on Repeat: What I’ve Been Wearing Lately

March has gone by really fast! I’m still waiting a few more days to switch my winter wardrobe over to my spring/summer wardrobe but I did manage to dig a few things out! Namely these hot pink J Crew shorts I’ve been wearing for years! But I also added a few new items to my spring closet!

So I got this super cute cold shoulder sweater c/o the Shop Rosie Grace Boutique! It runs pretty large so I sized down to a small and added a braided belt to show off my waist! I absolutely love how comfy it is! It’s perfect for days when you feel a little bloated (water weight anyone?!) but still want to look cute! Definitely check out the boutique, its all really reasonably priced!

I also bought this short sleeved romper (affiliate link) on Amazon for $19!!! It comes in multiple colors and it so comfortable to wear! I’ve been having a lot of luck on Amazon with clothes lately. Normally, I hate ordering clothes online because half the time it doesn’t fit or look right but Amazon has been on point lately! Definitely check out this post I wrote on affordable swimsuits from there!!

Beauty Products I’m Loving Right Now

It’s been awhile since I blogged about my favorite beauty products, so I figured I needed to share an update with what I’ve been using! With everything I buy and share with you guys, I have to love it and it has to be affordable. I use a mix of drugstore and high end brands to get my look. I always go pretty natural as well! I don’t like the feeling of wearing pounds of makeup, its just not comfortable and I don’t have time to put it on in the morning!

loreal highlighter

So excuse my leftover glitter nail polish. I totally forgot to take that off. But right now my favorite highlighter is the Infalllible Highlighter Stick by Loreal. It’s easy to put on and offers a soft glow that looks natural! I was at Ulta the other day and found it on clearance for only $1.50!

eyeshadow palette

So this is an Ulta brand eyeshadow palette. I literally can’t find it on their website but I really like it! I found it also on clearance for 50 cents! The pinks are just so pretty for spring!

pillow lip plumper

Soap and Glory has tons of great products that I use all the time, but my newest favorite is their Pillow Plump XXL! This lip plumper is really good. It’s not long lasting, so that’s a bummer, but I just keep reapplying. I got the clear version so I could wear it underneath other lip glosses. It feels funny after you’ve put it on, lots of lip tingling!

maybelline eyeliner

I’m loving this liquid eyeliner from Maybelline! Its called the MasterPrecise Ink in Stellar Sand! I’m not very good with liquid eyeliner usually but this one wasn’t too hard to put on. The shimmer is really pretty without being too much.

Makeup and I have a long way to go before I’ll consider myself a beauty guru, but these are a few affordable favorites of mine!

10 Swimsuits ALL Under $30!

multiple swimsuits

Maybe I’m a little early here talking about swimsuits, but I’m so excited for warmer weather! This winter has been long, gloomy, and rainy. I love me some SUNSHINE! David and I are going somewhere super tropical for our honeymoon in the fall, so I need a bunch of cute swimmies to wear on the beach, in the pool, and on a boat!

So all of these swimsuits are from Amazon and they’re all under $30! Quite a few of them have different colors or patterns, so if you like the style but the color, see if there are others!

I’m still working my butt off to lose a few pounds for swimsuit season, but oh my goodness its so hard. Food is my favorite. Luckily, most of these are high waisted or one piece. Ya know- just in case the bag of Doritos in my office wins out. Sigh. Let me know which swimsuit is your favorite!
