Sneak Peek at My Wedding Shoes and How to Choose Yours!

Hey everyone! I debated on whether I should share my wedding shoes with you guys yet, but I can’t keep a secret for long so I figured I’d give you a little look! These sparkly babies are by Michael Kors (affiliate link) and I got a great deal on them! Seriously, I found them on Poshmark for $20! You can’t beat that.

So I’ll be totally honest and say I’m not 10000% sure I’ll wear these on my wedding day. I noticed with everything wedding-related, I change my mind a million times. But these are the ones I have for now! If something else I like more catches my eye, then I’ll have another contender. There’s nothing wrong with options!

sparkly heels and tan legs

Ok, yes I realize how white my feet are compared to my legs. Major self-tanning fail! I’m sitting here giggling at my feet right now! But I loved the contrast between my tan legs and the sparkles on my kitten heels! They’re just so pretty!

How to choose the right wedding shoes

So I wanted to explain why I chose the shoes I did. Someone asked me why I didn’t choose a higher heel and to be honest, I don’t like high heels. At all. I’ve rolled my ankles enough times to know they just aren’t for me! I love kitten heels because they’re so easy to walk in but still give you that little confidence boost you often need on important days.

If you’re shopping for wedding shoes at the moment, I have a few suggestions on how to choose the right ones!

  • Shop within your budget. Seriously. Your wedding day is important but sticking to a budget is also vital. When I was initially thinking about wedding shoes, I had dreams of $800 Christian Louboutins for my big day. Ummm no? I’d never spend that on shoes on a normal day so that budget mentality also needs to extend into my wedding budget. If you’re set on designer shoes, look on Poshmark and other luxury re-sell apps to save a chunk of change.
  • Choose something you’re confident in. If you’re confident in sky high heels, then wear them! If you feel better in something more manageable, then wear that. Flats? Go for it! Sandals? Wear em! Buy something you can walk in and feel beautiful.
  • Consider your wedding day schedule. Weddings are practically all day affairs. Even if your wedding starts at 5pm, you’re still going to be ready to go about 2 hours prior. And by the time the night ends, it’ll be at the earliest 11pm. That’s a lot of time in a pair of shoes. Make sure they’re comfortable enough to wear for a long period of time! Break them in and see how they feel after a few hours. The last thing you want is blisters and numb feet on your wedding day.

I’ll get off my wedding planning soap box now. But really, these are all things I considered when I was picking my shoes! I’m actually wearing my shoes to an event this week to see how I feel in them after a few hours. Here’s hoping they stay comfy all day!

Valentino Rockstud Dupes on a Budget

rockstud dupesHey girls! Since I moved to Dallas, I’ve been exploring all the fun parts of the city and where all the best stores are. As you can imagine, this city is full of amazing shopping! I went shopping yesterday and noticed how many dupes there are for the Valentino “Rockstud” shoes and wanted to share a few of my favorites. Most of us are probably not in a position to spend $800 or more on a single pair of shoes. Finding lookalikes for my favorites is always exciting for me!

I noticed Nordstrom Rack has a great selection of Rockstud dupes (sometimes you can even find the real ones there for half off). Since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is still going on, people are focusing more on that and not so much on the deals in their discount store. As a bargain hunter, I know that nothing in the sale is going to be near as inexpensive as N. Rack is. Skip the big “sale” and head to the clearance store to find the lookalikes at a better price!

For a slightly higher price tag, Sole Society has a great selection as well! The red kitten heels are on my wish list right now. Ever since I saw one of my former supervisors wearing a pair of red kitten heels I’ve wanted some! I rarely buy high heels because they hurt my feet and I’m a bit of a klutz. Seriously, I trip going up stairs! Let me tell you, that takes talent.

I’ve linked several dupes for you to take a look at. Hopefully one strikes your fancy!

Studded Sandals for Summer

Happy hump day pretty gal! I’m so excited that flip flop season is starting and I now have a reason to get a pedicure every once in awhile! Last week, I treated myself to one so I could show off my adorable new sandals I got for this summer. Obviously, I chose an obnoxiously bright color for my nails. You’re only young once, right?
valentino dupesI found these Valentino dupes at DSW two weeks ago and have been waiting for warmer weather to wear them. Earlier this year, I did a blog post on the stiletto version of these shoes and everyone seemed to like them! Today, I thought I’d share with you my fabulous find because I’m so proud of myself for getting them on clearance. The BCBGeneration Glorina Flat (link here!) is a great dupe for the Valentino Rockstud shoe. Online, this sandal is $49, but I found mine in-store on the clearance rack for $29! I was surprised at how comfy they were given that it has very little padding and let’s be real, it’s just a sandal. The color is perfect too because it goes with everything! If you have limited funds to invest in shoes, I always opt for a neutral color so I can wear it with more outfits.Leave me a comment with your favorite summer sandal!

Valentino “Rockstud” Dupe

Valentino Rockstud Dupe

Good morning lovelies! Today, I wanted to share with you a great find from DSW! The famous Valentino “Rockstud” heels are all over the blogging and fashion world for obvious reasons. Hello, they’re gorgeous! However, these beauties go for between $900 and $1200 a pair. Given mine and the average person’s budget, we would rather put that money towards normal things like paying down student loans or even the credit card. Rest assured, there is a marvelous dupe on the market of these gorgeous heels (and for much less).

You’ve Been Duped

BCBGeneration came out with a beautiful pair of “Rockstud” heels to compete with the Valentino pair. The best part is that DSW has them for about $70 and they come in several colors! The base color of the shoe is nude with gold studs but you can choose from red, pink, navy blue, black, white, and you guessed it, nude, as your accent color. Personally, I’d be going after those red ones because I have a collection of nude heels to rival Kate Middleton’s!

Knowing your budget and not exceeding it is so important for the money-conscious individual. Most of my favorite fashion bloggers have worn and promoted the Valentino version and make it seem like a “staple” in every woman’s wardrobe. It’s a great shoe but far from a staple. Remembering that these ladies are making money from doing promoted posts and getting free shoes at the same time allows me to realize that not having $1000 shoes in my closet is ok and, gasp, normal. Sure, I’d love to have them! We all would. However, until the time comes when I can safely afford them and not have to worry about paying them off, I’ll settle for the BCBG version. Frankly, I’m ok with that because I’m #blessed already.

I love a Shoe Sale!

I am so glad it’s finally Saturday! Sleeping in a bit, drinking my coffee slowly, and a yummy breakfast are the best parts of the weekend. This week has been rough on me and I deserve some time to relax and reward myself for all the hard work I did. Speaking of rewards, I did a little shoe shopping at Target today and found a few goodies on clearance!

These adorable heels were only $10.48 on clearance! I linked them in the photo for you. For whatever reason, they aren’t on sale on the website but you can at least get a better idea of what they look like. I’ve also heard that these are good dupe for the Kate Spade Mule that’s really popular. They aren’t as comfy (let’s be real, $10 shoes will tear up your feet) but since I can’t spend $300 on pretty shoes, I’ll spend a few bucks on some that I don’t plan on wearing that often. I’m really excited about wearing these for Autumn though! They look great with denim!

I also found these adorable embellished sandals at Target for $11! I have plenty of sandals, but I’m stocking up for next summer while everything is headed to the clearance rack.

My last little find was a knock off of the popular Anthropology metallic letter mug that every fashion blogger casually had in their hand for Instagram coffee sipping photos. It was on clearance for $1.48 at Michael’s Craft Store!
