Halloween Decorations in My Dallas Apartment

apartment halloween decor

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend didn’t fly by too quickly, but mine certainly did. Everyday when I get to work I’m half afraid to look at my task list. It’s usually so long! That’s why the weekends are so important to me- it’s the one time I actually have to relax and do the things I enjoy. For example, this weekend I got to spend a little time decorating my apartment for Halloween and fall! So far, I haven’t really shared much about my apartment or what I’ve done with it since moving in. Honestly, it doesn’t get much sunlight so it’s hard to photograph without the natural light. Today, I wanted to share with you a few photos I took of my apartment decor for fall!

decorating your apartment

Probably my favorite decoration I put out was this adorable frosted glass Jack O’ Lantern! I love to put a candle inside it at night and just watch it flicker, it’s so pretty! The best part is that I got it at Marshall’s for $5.99. I love a good deal, especially on something that I know I’ll be using for the next few years. My mom has so many cute decorations like this that she found randomly and they’re some of my favorite things in the world! Traditional fall decor like her’s makes me me so happy!

Pumpkin spice latte art

Okay this may be my other favorite decoration! I went to a Wine & Design class and we painted this cute “Pumpkin Spice Latte” canvas painting last year. It’s so nice to hang up during this time of the year. I love when artwork can be used to represent the seasons because it blends in so well with the rest of my home decor. Plus, I love a good pumpkin spice latte! Don’t you?

chic gold pumpkins

Another little art project I completed a few weeks ago was painting this ceramic pumpkin gold. It was a cheap project to do (under $10) and kept me busy for a good 3 hours. How chic is gold this season anyway? Adding little gold things like this pumpkin around my apartment was the perfect way to keep the aesthetic I already had but still embrace the fall season. Plus, who can say ‘no’ to a Bath and Body Works candle?

And last but not least, is my fall table centerpiece! I took a class at Michael’s Craft Store on how to create a fall centerpiece and it went really well if I do say so myself. Of course, I had lots of help from the professionals. My kitty cat, Petunia, has enjoyed trying to eat the fake berries off of the centerpiece and then bat them around the kitchen floor for me to step on. At least she’s ignored the pumpkin salt and pepper shakers my mom bought for me. Those are my favorites!

Leave me a comment with your favorite fall and halloween decorations! I love to see what other people do with their homes! Have a great Monday lovelies!

5 Fall Recipes to Try

psl season

Yesterday I was sitting at Starbucks (shocking) drinking a PSL and scrolling through my Pinterest. Like any good pinner would do, I repinned all of the fall-themed things to my “Everything Autumn” board. I’ve had a Pinterest account for the last 4 years and have accumulated over 13,000 pins, a few hundred of those are pretty much all things pumpkin. After going through a few of those pins, I came across several recipes that I thought I might share with you! As promised, they’re centered around fall! They’re all linked below to the original pin. Click on the pin when you get there and it’ll take you to the website where you can get the recipe. I can attest to how good that Crockpot Apple Crisp is!

Autumn Bucket List

Autumn Weather
Happy Monday friends! My weekend was so beautiful! After it finished raining, the sun came out and the sky was so blue. I opened the windows and doors in my apartment to get some fresh air. The breeze felt amazing. I sat on my balcony with some coffee and enjoyed a short Pinterest session before heading out to run errands.
I was thinking to myself what are the ten things on my fall bucket list for this year? I feel like every year I create one but do you think I do anything on it? Nope. I’m going to try to change that though. Sadly, I only came up with eight things on my bucket list.
  1. Dress up for Halloween (I haven’t done this since I was 10)
  2. Make my own pumpkin spice latte
  3. Carve a pumpkin on my own (no help from dad this time)
  4. Enjoy a corn maze without slipping in the inevitably muddy ground
  5. See New England’s leaves
  6. Have a bonfire with friends
  7. Do a fall photo shoot with my sister
  8. Attempt a fall-themed craft

What’s on your fall bucket list? Leave me a comment!

Bath & Body Works Scents of the Season

Just like any of other seasons, I couldn’t help but wander into Bath & Body Works to smell some of their fall scented candles. Big mistake. How do they combine the perfect imagery on the front of the candle with a fabulous smell? Their marketers are brilliant is all I can figure. As long as you put a pretty image on the front, it could smell like a skunk and I would still buy it.

Anyway, I am absolutely in love with their collection for this Autumn! I have committed not to buying any until at least the second week of September though (remember, we want to savor summer!) I talked with an employee there and she said to be on the lookout for even more new scents and soaps to spice up your home! I captured a few photos of my favorite scents to share with you! Be sure to comment and tell me your favorites or suggest new ones to try!
