Coffee Mug Lust List

Thank God it’s Friday! I love this day probably a little too much. I think we all do though. Friday nights during the summer are just the best! Summer nights in general are the best though. I’m sitting on my deck right now sipping my morning coffee and listening to the sounds of construction going on in the building next to me. Gotta love it. Nothing can bring me down though, I’ve got my coffee!

Lust List

I have quite the collection of coffee mugs that I should really show you guys at some point. Recently, I came across quite a few new ones to put on my lust list though. They’re just so cute and I want them all! I’m also working on a little coffee station in my apartment that I’ll be showing you all at some point. I’m linking each of the coffee mugs below so you know where to find them!

Spring Pottery Barn Collection

Snow is on the ground outside my window again and I’m housebound. Again. As much as I delight in this fluffy stuff while I’m on the ski slopes, I don’t enjoy it when I’m at home in Maryland and trying to get things done. During my recent trip to Charleston, I indulged in a few lovely spring things to remind me that the end is near. I hopped on over to Pottery Barn (see what I did there?) and took in a few pretty things.

Although I have no big house of my own to decorate or even an apartment to style, I still daydream about the home decor endeavors I will eventually take on when I marry my rich, handsome husband (speaking of which, where are you, bro!?). There’s nothing wrong with that, right? We can all dream!

Pottery Barn Style

Is there nothing more beautiful than hydrangeas in the spring? I could just look at them all day. I’m hoping to run to the market quite often this spring to pick up a bouquet that can sit on my table. Flowers bring a home to life!

Another love I have is animal print! I won’t wear fur but I certainly like faux fur blankets and pillows. Spring can still be chilly so I like to keep around the cozy luxuries of the winter. Honestly though, when is animal print not in style? Always appropriate!

I also adore crisp white bedding with distinct spring/summer colored accessories. Throw pillows and blankets really make a bedroom inviting. When I retreat to my room, I want to feel relaxed and content. Coordinating colors does just that for me.

pottery_barn_candles

Do you see a trend here? I love animal print! Believe it or not, these are candles in jars covered with cheetah faux fur. You can score them for about $35. Still cheaper than Dyptique so count your blessings!

tufted_couch

Something I’m trying this spring is to mix cool and warm colors like this. The dark fur on the throws and the off-white throw with the gray tufted couch is really beautiful! Understated elegance at it’s finest.

Last but not least, I’m in love with the way this dresser is set up. There’s a lot of interesting things going on here. The candelabras are several sizes, the glasses around them are very robust, and the tray to the left enhances that sense of height that the other objects give.

A Pottery Barn Christmas

On a recent trip to the mall, my chestnut praline latte and I went to visit Pottery Barn for Christmas decor ideas. I left with a million ideas and not enough money in my bank account to do them all. Between the carefully placed candles and faux Christmas trees and the twinkly lights strung perfectly on a mantle, I was positive in the future I would need to marry a millionaire for my decorating fantasies to come true.

I think we all look at these stores and wonder two things: 1) Who has the talent to design these gorgeous displays? and 2) Who can afford to buy the things in the displays? The answer to both is very few people. I believe in dreaming, however, and if I want a big house to decorate for Christmas, then so help me I’m going to get it! When we stop dreaming, we stop living.

The thing I love about stores like these is that they remind me of why I work so hard. I’m working towards a better future and in the mean time, I can just admire the work of someone else. Consider the cable knit and faux fur throws. How cozy are they? And the adorable Eiffel Tower Martini glass? I just love it! The subtle touches of “snow” and “ice” on the branches of each of the trees with the lights shining on them remind of a winter sunrise. These small touches make all of the difference in the world. They make your house a home.

What store inspires you during Christmas? Leave me a comment!
