Two Flattering Styles for Every Figure

There are certain styles of tops and dresses that are more flattering than others. I am forever trying on new styles and figuring out which ones work with my hourglass shape. My silhouette is considered the ‘ideal’ body type, however what most people don’t realize is that there are many different shapes and styles that I cannot under any circumstances wear. Consider the crop top; dear Lord, just no! It hits me at the most awkward place and does nothing for my figure!

However, there are two styles that look great on every figure- the tunic and the peplum styles! The tunic elongates your body, making it look long and lean. Peplum hits you right at your narrowest point and gives you a gorgeous figure while hiding the other things you don’t want noticed (aka the weight you gained from binge eating left over Valentine’s candy).

  • White Peplum- Jcrew
  • Yellow Peplum- ModCloth
  • Navy Blue Tunic- Modcloth
  • Royal Blue Tunic- Target, Mossimo

Next time you head out shopping, look for both of these styles. Be careful that the tunic isn’t too long on you. It shouldn’t look like a dress! Make sure the peplum top isn’t too short either. It doesn’t do anything to flatter the figure!

Outfit for Weekends (tres chic)!

On the Town

There’s something nice about the weekends and wearing a cute little outfit that can go from day to night. I’m such a lover of white jeans with peplum tops at the moment too! I really like doing neutrals like these tans and whites and adding color in one particular place. Sometimes makeup is a great way to do this, particularly when using a bright shade of lipstick. Otherwise, rock a top!

Here’s to the weekend loves!
