Valentine’s Gifts for Your Man

Valentine's Gifts for Him

Good morning! I’m writing this from a hotel room in Ohio as I make my way across the mid-west heading to Kansas City. Making this big move was nothing short of scary for me as I’m a Maryland-girl at heart, but every so often we all have to go outside of our comfort zones. I’m so glad that I’m stepping outside of mine just in time for Valentine’s Day!

David, my boyfriend, moved to Kansas City last month and now I’m joining him in this new city. It’s our first Valentine’s together and as per social norms I told him that he didn’t need to get me anything. Knowing that this actually means the opposite, he has a surprise for me! Luckily, I’m an easy girl to shop for (at least I think). Men on the other hand, can be a little more difficult! I’ve come up with a list of Valentine’s Day gifts for the man in your life. This should at least steer you in the right direction! Little tip: It doesn’t have to be pink and covered in hearts to be a sweet gift either. Go with what your man likes!

Guy’s Guide to Valentine’s Day

Good morning lovelies! I’m super excited to share with you (and for you to share with the man in your life) my favorite gifts for Valentine’s Day! The traditional chocolates and roses are my favorite out of everything I mention in this blog post, but for those of us who like to be spoiled I came up with a few items and even a little graphic so you can share it on your Facebook wall and tag a certain someone in it!

Gentlemen, please turn your attention to me as I walk you through everything. I promise that you’ll be safe if you use my guidance and suggestions. I realize (and so will you sooner or later) that some of this stuff is just too expensive to buy, which is why you must understand that these are suggestions and by no means the only way to make a girl happy. However, if you want to blow her expectations out of the water, you might consider a few of my ideas!

  • Miss Dior Perfume- Seriously, what girl wouldn’t love perfume like this on the most romantic day of the year? Gents, you can find this perfume at Nordstrom’s and also Sephora. I’d suggest places like but for quality assurance, go to a department store.
  • Jo Malone candle- Candles are romantic and cozy. Girls love romantic and cozy! Jo Malone candles are packaged pretty and smell divine! Saks 5th Avenue has a whole selection online. If this is a bit out of your price range, try a Bath & Body Works candle!
  • Kate Spade Wallet- If your lady is like me, she’s in love with Kate Spade! While getting her a bag may be a little over-the-top, a wallet could be just the ticket! This is my favorite wallet they have in stock. You can’t go wrong with it.
  • Pink Roses- Red roses are lovely, but pink seems so much more youthful!
  • Coffee Mug- For the young professional woman, coffee is her lifeline. This adorable mug will remind her she’s beautiful everyday.
  • Chocolate-Covered Strawberries- Whether you make them yourself or buy them from Godiva, this is much better twist on the traditional box of chocolates (and it tastes better too!) As much as our moms enjoyed the box of Russell Stover goodies, we like something a little different.
  • Champagne- This goes so well with those strawberries I mentioned! Don’t forget the champagne flutes! Pop fizz clink!

My last suggestion to you men is regardless of what you give her or do for her, write her a letter. Not a text or an email, an actual letter. It doesn’t have to be ridiculously sappy or dramatic, it only needs to be filled with the things you appreciate about her. List them, bullet point them, whatever you do just write what’s on your heart!

Gift Ideas for the Men in Your Life

One of the hardest things about Christmas is shopping for opposite gender. I mean really, what do you get a guy besides expensive gaming equipment, cologne, or sporting equipment? Girls are easier to shop for because not everything we like is expensive. As the season begins, you inevitably have a gentleman on your list whether that be a brother, father, or significant other. I browsed J Crew Factory for inspiration and am showing you my top picks for under $50.

  • First of all, I adore thermal-style shirts on men, particularly when they’re striped. This one comes in at $22.
  • I also love the leather bracelet trend I’m seeing on men. They even stack them at times. J Crew has this one for $7.
  • We’ve all been in a situation where we wished a bottle opener was around or someone had a better one than what’s on their keychain. For $14.50, this anchor bottle opener is yours.
  • Does the guy in your life travel a lot? If so, a tie case might be the best thing you can buy him. J Crew sells this one in two colors for $24.50. To go with the case, splurge on a new tie like this green, printed one for $19.50.
  • What can I say? I love a man who dresses well. More so, I love patterns! This gingham print dress shirt is a steal at $34.50.
  • For some reason, men seem to like flasks. I don’t know where on Earth they can take them legally outside of their property, but for whatever reason they’re popular. J Crew’s red checkered flask is $14.50.
  • Did you know I have an obsession with socks? Well, I do and these ones for $8 just make the obsession even stronger.
  • Similar to above, if your gentleman travels frequently, then a leather passport case may be a nice gift. J Crew sells this case in two colors for $14.50.
  • With winter in our midst, there’s nothing better than curling up with cozy pajamas. Give your man these warm, deer print flannel pajama bottoms for $22.
  • For the guy who enjoys being on the water, give him this blue braided belt for $13.99.

If you have any suggestions for great gifts, then leave me a comment!
