Color Blocking Trend

A trend I’m hoping to see for the summer months is color blocking! For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s basically sectioning off different parts of your body with a distinct color. For example, the yellow top would section off your upper torso and chest while the skirt would section off your legs and hips.

This was popular last year and it was really flattering. I love bright colors for the summer months too. Obviously I’m a lover of anything pink so that will be one of the color blocks I go to quite often. I think royal blue, yellow, lime green, and citrus orange would be great choices to pair with it.

I tend to buy solid color items because they go with so many things. I’m overcoming my aversion to pattern and learning how to wear it. I can be a little ridiculous about wearing more than one pattern though. For whatever reason, that’s been popular recently. No one likes a floral print with zebra stripes. It’s hideous. Really hideous. Forever 21 has glorified this trend and the hipsters and mini fashionistas have jumped on the band wagon. Personally, I’m staying far away from it. I never saw Jackie Kennedy or Audrey Hepburn rocking this trend so I’m just going to assume that it’s a fad and will look hilarious in photos 20 years from now.

Enjoy your Tuesday! I’m getting back in the work grind right now.

Music for the Soul

Coffee_Enthusiasts When I’m writing a blog post there are two things that must be present: good coffee and great music. I’m a little hipster in this sense I guess. However, I don’t order my coffee customized or anything like that, I order what’s on the menu. Starbuck’s “Secret Menu” isn’t really a secret; its a bunch of annoying people who like their coffee to be made especially for them despite the long line behind them and then bug the baristas if there are 2 shots of caramel instead of 1. Anyway, here is my playlist for when I’m writing. Enjoy loves! P.S. check out my coffee board on Pinterest!
