Hello lovelies! This weekend I took a break from the blog to get some things done and hang out with a few friends. Sometimes a girl just needs that, you know? I also had some time to just lounge around my house and encourage my creative side. Since I’m working on getting my first “big girl” job and my own apartment, I created a visual to go along with my list of design must-haves in my master bath.
- Fluffy towels because no one wants red marks on their skin after using a towel
- Good soap (aka, better than the stuff you get at Bath and Body Works)
- Flowers for a natural element
- Jewelry tray
- Small candles
- Glass jars for bathroom necessities like cotton balls or bobby pins
- An ottoman for my weekly pedicure
- Artwork because bare walls are so boring
- Storage baskets, I can’t stand things not being stored properly
I’m spoiled, I know. I really believe that a woman’s bathroom should feel like an escape. We spend all of our time getting ready here so why shouldn’t it be luxurious? I also think that luxury shouldn’t have to cost a fortune. I was browsing through Marshall’s the other day and found all of these things for a 1/4 of the retail price. Some day I’ll be able to afford Restoration Hardware, but for now I’ll stick to my bargain hunting.
Hello sweet friends! I hope your Valentine’s or Galentine’s Day was lovely. Mine certainly was. I gave my wonderful mom a nautical themed charm bracelet that she was surprised by! The small beads were blue rhinestones and the 4 bigger charms were a sail boat, sea horse, beach chair, and heart. She gave me a bag full of cooking goodies I’ll be needing for whenever I move out and get my own place! She’s always thinking ahead and encouraging me that someday (hopefully soon) I’ll have my first job. There were also a few chocolate things in my surprise bag, most of which I’ve already devoured!
The biggest surprise of all was the dozen roses that were sent to me by someone very special to me. I was at work when they were delivered, but when I got home there was a note on the box and gorgeous magenta, yellow, and white roses inside! Nothing brings a smile to my face and energy to the air like flowers in the house! They roses are currently sitting on my vanity in a gold vase by my mirror.
I’m such a girly-girl when it comes to things like this. These little gestures and sweet things mean the world to me! Apparently, they mean just as much to my kitty-cat, Puddin’. Once I got the flowers out of their comfy bed in the box, my cat jumped right in, sat down, and made himself a little hiding place. It was a lovely Valentine’s Day for all!
Saturdays are made for relaxing and recovering from a stressful week. Unfortunately, my Saturdays usually have me working. With Christmas coming, I know my boss is going to be scheduling my weekends packed with work. Now that the temperature is dropping into the 30s, I hate leaving my house period for any occasion much less work. Anyway, for those of you who do have today to yourself, here’s 8 things that make my chilly days-in worth waiting a whole week for.
1. A Starbuck’s Gingerbread Latte
2. Fuzzy Ugg Mocassins
3. A plate of warm cookies
4. A flannel shirt (if I could find one that would look cute on me)
5. Christmas with the Kranks (fave Christmas movie!)
6. Cutting out paper snowflakes
7. Warm, cable knit blanket (this one is from Ikea)
8. Bath & Body Works candles
What does your perfect Saturday include?
In typical Liz fashion, I have found an Etsy store that has the cutest prints and stationary ever! Trending right now is gold, glitter, and cute quotes so believe me when I say this store has both goin’ on! Its called Kardz Kouture by Jessica Boffo. I seriously need to know where this girl gets her inspiration and how she learned to create such adorable little things.
Eventually, I would love to open a business like this but finding out how to do it is the biggest difficulty there is. No one is going to tell you what programs they use or who their printer is and how they run their business. Why would they? You would become their competition! I know a little bit about things pertaining to this through my dad’s Etsy store . However, you can never know enough!
Anyway, I’ve included a few cute little things from Kardz Kouture that I found on her store. Be sure to tell me about any other cute Etsy stores or if you have one you think others might enjoy!
