Pretty Wallpaper and Big Dreams

Happy Tuesday friends. I’m feeling the November air right now and its rather brisk! I noticed Starbucks has their red cups out now signaling the start of an intense holiday season. Bring on the peppermint mocha coffee drinks. Starbucks gets way too much of my money this time of the year. Regardless, I absolutely love the little things that make each season special.

Speaking of special, when I started this blog I knew I would eventually come up with big plans for it. I didn’t know what those plans were, but I knew they would be amazing. Slowly, I’ve begun to understand what I want to do with this blog and where I want it to go. Here are 5 things I’ve been dreaming and thinking about:

  1. Open an Etsy store associated with what I write and how I live
  2. Do product reviews for boutiques and other companies with products I actually believe in
  3. Create my own coffee mug and stationary line
  4. Design a small collection of accessories
  5. Become the new Lauren Conrad

Am I California dreaming? Maybe so, but it just sounds like so much fun! Girls like me have so many ideas floating around in their heads that we can’t choose one thing to do, we want to choose them all. I think the first thing I’ll start out with is an Etsy store selling cute prints of pretty things and sayings. I’m actually including this little design I configured the other day for you to save and make as desktop wallpaper (it’s super cute!) Let me know what you think of my ideas in the comments below! If you have any tips, then I would love to hear them as well!

Boutique Love: Brina Box and Pretty Little Things

Happy Monday everyone! I found the cutest company over the weekend called Brina Box. They sell jewelry, clothes, and a few other little accessories. Everything sparkles and is made for the girly girl in all of us. Best of all, their prices are reasonable and practically everything is discounted right now (raid their closet ladies!)

They’re a little boutique out of Arkansas with a taste for glamor and pretty things!

In other news, my weekend was busy! I hung out with my bestie Lindsey and tried to cram as much homework in as possible. I also cleaned my room and started organizing my closet for fall. Gosh, I need a bigger closet. First world problems, right? I also spent some time looking for cute faux fur vests that don’t look like something died on them. Brina Box is doing a pretty decent job of keeping it classy though! I really like their vests!

Let me know which piece you love the most!

How to Make Homework Enjoyable

Time for Homework

It’s homework season and I’m already tired. There’s just some things I do not love and never will. Homework is one of them. I’ve compiled a little visual for all the college newbies and others of things that anyone with an intense study session ahead of them will need.

First, get yourself into a comfy outfit. I’m a hoodie and sweats kind of girl. I’m not comfy unless I’m in something of the sort. Treat yourself to a good pair of sweatpants and a warm hoodie. You’ll be needing them.

Second, have your laptop! I know you think you’ll just be reading that textbook, but chances are you will need to Google something that you don’t get. Or you might just procrastinate and post pictures of your “study sesh” on Facebook. Whatever, just have it ready and charged (hint: bring a charger!)

Third, invest in a warm, fuzzy blanket. It makes everything cozier! If I have a blanket to curl up in, I’m so much more inclined to sit there and work because it’s a warm and inviting atmosphere!

Fourth, have your agenda and pen near by to check due dates. You’ll need it trust me because you’ll think something is due next Friday but will want to double check to make sure.

Fifth, having earbuds are a must. I have to block out excess noise with these things. I love to listen to Andrea Boccelli and Michael Buble while working. Invest in a good pair that won’t break after 20 uses.

Sixth, have coffee near by for when you start to get drowsy. Long study sessions require maximum caffeine. I have a whole arsenal of creamers in my refrigerator ready to be added to my Columbian brew. Plus, getting cute coffee mugs to pour the drink into is also a highlight I enjoy!

Seventh, burn a candle! For a relaxing atmosphere, I burn a candle. It doesn’t make me sleepy but it does make me feel comfortable and like I want to stay in the space I’m in. That’s hard to do when homework is near by!

Eighth, have munchies on hand. I don’t mean you need to eat your way through your homework but just have a little pick me up ready after you’ve read so many pages. I use this reward system to get me to read faster.

Finally, have a pillow near by. Sometimes I can find a way to rest my head on my pillow and turn the book so I can still read. Other times, I just need to take a little nap to get me through the rest of the homework session.

Hopefully these ideas and tips have you looking forward to the next time you need to have a homework day. I have many of them and rely on these tricks to get me through them. Comment below with your thoughts and suggestions!

Pink for Summer Makeup

Pink for Summer

“Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed!” Oh Elle Woods, you have the best quotes. But seriously, pink is so signature for summer. Last summer, coral tried to take over and that didn’t last (though I like the color). I’ve put together a little palette of my favorite shades of pink and different ways to wear them.

By no means am I insinuating that every girl can afford these expensive brands. Unlike some fashion/beauty bloggers, I understand that $40 lipstick is out of reach for most girls. Heck, Revlon lipstick is becoming a tad too pricey for me. I have found suitable alternatives to these fancy products at Target (I would say Wal-Mart but half the time people open the make up to test it first. Ew!).

Some of my favorite brands are ELF, NYC, Rimmel London, and Nyx. I also have noticed that towards the end of each season, they seem to put a lot of their make up on sale. Keep that in mind next time you’re in need of new beauty products!

Bedroom Beauty

Bedroom Beauty
One of the things I enjoyed the most growing up and moving around when I went to college was getting to decorate my bedroom. I’ve had Barbie themes, Princess themes, Hawaiian themes, and so many more! Having a place to go and relax is such a blessing for every girl (and guy)! Enjoy these soft, warm colors!
