Valentino “Rockstud” Dupe

Valentino Rockstud Dupe

Good morning lovelies! Today, I wanted to share with you a great find from DSW! The famous Valentino “Rockstud” heels are all over the blogging and fashion world for obvious reasons. Hello, they’re gorgeous! However, these beauties go for between $900 and $1200 a pair. Given mine and the average person’s budget, we would rather put that money towards normal things like paying down student loans or even the credit card. Rest assured, there is a marvelous dupe on the market of these gorgeous heels (and for much less).

You’ve Been Duped

BCBGeneration came out with a beautiful pair of “Rockstud” heels to compete with the Valentino pair. The best part is that DSW has them for about $70 and they come in several colors! The base color of the shoe is nude with gold studs but you can choose from red, pink, navy blue, black, white, and you guessed it, nude, as your accent color. Personally, I’d be going after those red ones because I have a collection of nude heels to rival Kate Middleton’s!

Knowing your budget and not exceeding it is so important for the money-conscious individual. Most of my favorite fashion bloggers have worn and promoted the Valentino version and make it seem like a “staple” in every woman’s wardrobe. It’s a great shoe but far from a staple. Remembering that these ladies are making money from doing promoted posts and getting free shoes at the same time allows me to realize that not having $1000 shoes in my closet is ok and, gasp, normal. Sure, I’d love to have them! We all would. However, until the time comes when I can safely afford them and not have to worry about paying them off, I’ll settle for the BCBG version. Frankly, I’m ok with that because I’m #blessed already.

I love a Shoe Sale!

I am so glad it’s finally Saturday! Sleeping in a bit, drinking my coffee slowly, and a yummy breakfast are the best parts of the weekend. This week has been rough on me and I deserve some time to relax and reward myself for all the hard work I did. Speaking of rewards, I did a little shoe shopping at Target today and found a few goodies on clearance!

These adorable heels were only $10.48 on clearance! I linked them in the photo for you. For whatever reason, they aren’t on sale on the website but you can at least get a better idea of what they look like. I’ve also heard that these are good dupe for the Kate Spade Mule that’s really popular. They aren’t as comfy (let’s be real, $10 shoes will tear up your feet) but since I can’t spend $300 on pretty shoes, I’ll spend a few bucks on some that I don’t plan on wearing that often. I’m really excited about wearing these for Autumn though! They look great with denim!

I also found these adorable embellished sandals at Target for $11! I have plenty of sandals, but I’m stocking up for next summer while everything is headed to the clearance rack.

My last little find was a knock off of the popular Anthropology metallic letter mug that every fashion blogger casually had in their hand for Instagram coffee sipping photos. It was on clearance for $1.48 at Michael’s Craft Store!

Pretty Little Things: Stationary

I love getting letters! When I was away at college, my mom would send me little letters just saying how much she missed me (she would also include a little cash for my favorite Starbucks drink). My grandma would also send me cards and little notes on birthdays and holidays. Anyway, the stationary of an individual doesn’t seem to be as important as it used to be. “Snail mail” isn’t used to deliver a message like it was years ago. A part of me would like to bring that lovely tradition back to the light.

Apart from my own stockpile of stationary and notecards, I took some time the other day to find a few examples of stationary and notecards to share with all of you. I went to Target and found some I liked there but the prices were all $4.50 and up, which I thought was a little high for notecards. I went to Marshall’s after that and found that most notecards were under $4.00! These are a few of my favorites that I found:

You don’t need to spend a lot of money on stationary or notes to send to people. It really is all about presentation, which if done correctly can be inexpensive and chic. Take a look at these notecards below by Ashley Brooke Designs. They each retail for around $18 for a total of 10 notecards!

I love Ashley’s designs and she inspires me so much, but for right now her work is just a little too pricey for my budget. However, investing in a few inexpensive ones that are designed well and don’t have anything written in them that seems “cheap” is a great way to make up for the money you didn’t spend and still have some class. FYI when I say “cheap” I mean things like “Happy birthday, now where’s the food?” with a picture of a bored looking person on the front. That’s rude and classless.

Have you ever seen cards like that? Please share below, I’d be interesting in seeing the horrible cards out there!

Stay classy!
