Causes to Celebrate!

icecream_cakeHappy Thursday everyone! Today I’m using my time to be productive! Or just trip over things and say “um” a lot. Maybe a little both actually. Anyway, this week has flown by yet again and frankly I don’t know where my autumn is going but it’s going too fast! Stores are putting up Christmas decorations and bringing out wrapping paper. I’m not ready for this.

But I am ready to share an exciting bit of news with you! This past Sunday evening my very talented dad launched his online Etsy store Diamondback Military Graphics! My dad loves military art and he enjoys target shooting so he found a way to make money doing what he loves. He learned how to use a graphic design program to draw images of military rifles and then turn them into bumper texas_longhornsstickers. He has several designs available from the latest military issued guns to models that are no longer used but are considered “classic.”

To commemorate this special day, my mom and I got him a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake! Every milestone is important and this is a big one for my dad. Eventually, he would like to take these designs and put them on t shirts, hoodies, and coffee mugs. I’m trying to convince him that something done in pink would be great for ladies so here’s hoping he will get around to it.

Check out his Etsy shop and share with friends who might be interested!

Bath & Body Works Scents of the Season

Just like any of other seasons, I couldn’t help but wander into Bath & Body Works to smell some of their fall scented candles. Big mistake. How do they combine the perfect imagery on the front of the candle with a fabulous smell? Their marketers are brilliant is all I can figure. As long as you put a pretty image on the front, it could smell like a skunk and I would still buy it.

Anyway, I am absolutely in love with their collection for this Autumn! I have committed not to buying any until at least the second week of September though (remember, we want to savor summer!) I talked with an employee there and she said to be on the lookout for even more new scents and soaps to spice up your home! I captured a few photos of my favorite scents to share with you! Be sure to comment and tell me your favorites or suggest new ones to try!

Sunday Funday: Beach and Bikini

best_friendsI so enjoy my Sundays maybe even more than my Saturdays. This weekend was no different. My good friend and I decided that we were getting a bit too pale and that we needed some time in the sun. We live about four hours from a real beach (as the bird flies its only an hour or so but water and lack of bridges ruins it). As many people do in our town, we found our own “beach” on the shores of the Patuxent River. Believe it or not, it was quite relaxing and enjoyable. Their was a light breeze, boats going by, kids in the water, and good music playing. The only thing missing was a Pina Colada!

I’m also sporting a new swimsuit! This one I found for $30 at a TJ Maxx! Its really flattering because in the front on the bottoms it looks like its a wrap style! Also the top has wiring on the sides for support and prettiness! It’s an Australian company named Seafolly that created the suit (normally upwards of $150!)

What was your weekend like? Comment below if you did anything fun!

P.S. Got frozen yogurt from a little place called Sweet Frog! Strawberry cheesecake and pineapple coconut flavor with some granola and walnuts on top! So good!
