Oooh you guys! Target has done it again! Their Dollar Spot is on point this Christmas! They have a lot of inexpensive decorative items and tons of really cute things to give as little gifts or stocking stuffers! If anyone wonders where I spend all of our money, its in this little section. Like how does $1 + $3 + $5 = $56?! It just happens in that section of Target. ANYWHO, take a look at what’s in store!

Bar & Kitchen Gifts
Everything is between $1 and $7! As you can imagine, I’ve been restraining myself from purchasing basically everything (I mean it’s only November, right?) But you better believe I’ll be raiding the Dollar Spot in the coming weeks!
I can’t believe I’m saying this but it’s finally under 80 degrees consistently! Of course it’ll go back up to 90 I’m sure… but for now, I’m wearing a sweater! This pink fringe sweater is a new favorite of mine! It comes in several colors and is under $30!
I normally never wear bright colors like this (burnt orange is about as crazy as it gets for me) but I feel so gorgeous in this color! I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone more often and wear things I normally wouldn’t. I usually go for a preppy/classic look but since moving to Texas, it’s like my whole wardrobe has changed.
The New England, East Coast preppy-look I grew up loving just isn’t a thing in Dallas. I’ve definitely changed my wardobe a lot since moving here. I’ve replaced cable-knit sweaters with denim jackets and basic long sleeve tees and that works. But when I go home- the duck boots are coming out!
Anywho- I’m going to be sharing more fall styles in the coming weeks. I’ll also be sharing my honeymoon outfits in November when I come home from ST. LUCIA!!! I literally cannot wait you guys! We’ve been planning this trip since January and now that it’s right around the corner I’m brimming with excitement! And the best part is, I’ll be going there with my HUSBAND! The countdown to wedding day is coming to an end and I couldn’t be more excited!
Hey everyone! It’s finally fall! Sort of. It’s still 95 degrees everyday here in Texas but according to the calendar it’s pumpkin spice latte season!! And I am here for it!! I rounded up a few of my favorite fall Amazon styles I thought you might love too! I really am trying to build up a capsule wardrobe for each season and I feel like these pieces go with a lot and I’ll be wearing them often.
The red swing dress is super loose and flowy and comes in 5 colors! Normally, I go for navy blue every time but I figured a nice burgundy would be a good addition to my closet.
The striped cardigan also comes in several color combos and it’s the softest cardigan I’ve ever worn! I really love it and will probably go back and get another.
The leopard print puffy coat is actually reversible and comes with an attached hood! I really like it for the winter months. I’d definitely size down because it runs large!
The pink off the shoulder waffle knit top is my new fave cozy top to wear with sweat pants or jeans! You can really do so much with it! It also comes in several colors!
Finally, the red cowl neck sweater is super cute with the button details! The only thing I didn’t like was that it comes vacuum packed so when you open it, it’s really wrinkled. Other than that it’s a great buy!
So enjoy shopping! I’m on the hunt for new items to share with you!
*affiliate links are present. many of these items were gifted to me!
Hey guys! So I don’t think I’ve mentioned before where David and I are taking our honeymoon! We deliberated for a month or so before choosing (we even had a spreadsheet for each destination we were considering) but we finally decided on ST. LUCIA!!
I can’t tell you how excited I am for our tropical getaway celebrating our marriage! We haven’t been on a trip like this ever before so it’s a long time coming. Cross your fingers my passport comes in the mail soon! It’s taking forever!!!
So I still haven’t packed my bags obviously, but I have a few items in mind that I know I’ll have to bring with me! The first is this super cute romper! I found it at a boutique called Pitaya earlier this summer and haven’t worn it much.
I’m finding that rompers are my go-to style for the summer because they’re so easy to wear and don’t require much effort.
Unfortunately I can’t find the romper anywhere online! I bought it from Pitaya but they no longer carry it. Ugh! I linked some similar ones here and here for you to check out! In the next few weeks I’ll finally be sharing some fall styles I’m loving but it’s too hot to even play dress up for a few minutes here in Texas. So be patient!
EEEK! We are 43 days away from getting married! I don’t know where time has gone! The last time I posted an update on our wedding planning progress was back in March and we were over 200 days away from the big day. Time just goes so quickly.
I figured I’d give a quick update on what we have left to do and what I’ve learned a long the way! There’s so much no one knows about planning a wedding until you have to plan your own. Then its like yikes! This is overwhelming! So anyway, here’s everything we have left:
Hair trial for me – happening this Saturday!
Makeup trial- next Friday!
Final alterations to my gown- in October!
Choosing our first dance song (this is a hard one!)
Getting final guest count (I swear that’s going to be impossible since literally almost EVERYONE has to travel to Dallas)
Get decor together in appropriate boxes labeled with where the contents should go
Buy my morning-of outfit
Finish escort cards (my coworker Darlin is doing the calligraphy for them- go check out her card shop on Etsy!!)
Buy wedding bands (we’ve been putting this off because $$$)
Figure out seating chart
GET MARRIAGE LICENSE
Of course there’s a million other tiny details I’m leaving out, such as deciding on my nail color for the day. FYI I’m thinking pale pink but it might end up being an almond or cream color. You’ll find out eventually!
SO here’s what I’ve learned along the way.
1) You are NEVER done paying for the wedding. Just when you think you’ve finally paid for everything, some new expense makes itself known. The little things also add up. Buying thank you notes, a card box, frames for memorial table photos, and everything else all adds up to hundreds of dollars.
2) You will overlook something important. I think our biggest “oops should have thought about that” was the weekend our wedding is going to be on. It’s the weekend before Halloween and Dallas shuts down the street RIGHT NEXT to our hotel for a huge annual bar crawl. We definitely didn’t think about that when we chose our date. Oops.
3) You will have emotions you didn’t expect. Goodness, I swear I’ve been on so many emotional roller coasters through all this. Weddings are emotional all the way around. So don’t be surprised when you get annoyed over something that normally wouldn’t bother you or sob over something you wouldn’t typically shed a tear for.
4) People don’t always know wedding etiquette. Oh man. This is a big one. Sometimes people just plain forget their manners! Don’t be surprised when a guest invites someone to your wedding that isn’t on the guest list. And don’t be surprised if people ask nosy things about the cost of your wedding.
I’m going to do a follow up post after our wedding so I can share everything I learned from the wedding day. I feel like you can prepare all you want for it but until it’s actually happening, you’ll be in the dark.
