Flu Season Sucks: 5 Ways to Feel Better

Happy Monday everyone! I’ve been sick lately which is why I haven’t been blogging much. The flu has been really bad this year and I wasn’t taking any chances. David and I have also been in limbo kind of with a bunch of decisions we’ve had to make and after awhile the stress and exhaustion of it all just wears you down. Hopefully I’ll be sharing  some exciting life updates with you soon!

Having been sick off and on for the last few weeks, I thought I’d share a few ways to feel better that I thought worked pretty well!

Drink Lots of Tea

Tea is one of those things that I never thought I’d like. I recently discovered a few yummy teas that are bit fruitier than others I’ve had and hated. Every time I drink a cup I feel so much better! My two favorites are this one and this one!

Use Essential Oils

I was skeptical about these oils until I actually decided to try a cheap one I found at Target. I love Eucalyptus and peppermint oils! These not only smell amazing but they help clear out your nose because they’re rather strong. Definitely give them a try in a diffuser!

Take a Hot Shower

My time in the shower is sacred. I can unwind, think about life, and just enjoy it. When I’m sick though, washing off all the impurities of the illness feels so good! You can also add a shower bomb like this one with an essential oil infused to really help open up your sinuses!

Cuddle with Your Furbaby

There’s nothing better than getting your kitty or puppy on the bed with you when you aren’t feeling well. My furbabies know when I’m not feeling right and they always want to be around me. Sometimes a cuddle with them is all I need to feel better!

Watch a Documentary

I can nerd out a little to historical movies and documentaries. They keep my mind off of things and I learn something in the mean time. I used to sit in bed when I was sick and watch old Mary Kate and Ashley movies (Passport to Paris anyone?!) but now that I’m a little older and don’t have much time on my hands, every minute spent watching TV needs to be at least somewhat stimulating.

Take care of your friends and family this flu season! I’m not sure why its been such a bad one but keep washing your hands and stay home if you’re sick. Spring is coming so keep that in mind too! The winter doesn’t last forever!
