Preppy Fourth of July Outfits You’ll Love

Oh Fourth of July, you stole my heart long ago! I’m an East Coast girl and I swear no other region makes the holiday anywhere near as patriotic. Texas definitely comes close though! I pulled together a few of my favorite Fourth of July themed outfits to share with you just before the holiday. You can’t go wrong with Lilly Pulitzer, a red J. Crew lobster sweater, or a red romper, right?!

Preppy Fourth of July Staples

Since it’s my favorite holiday, there are certain things that are must haves! I’ve always had a little dream of hosting mine and David’s family at our future home for the Fourth. Because my mom was always such a good hostess (and I’ve read countless books on being a hostess,) there’s a few Fourth of July staples every party needs!

  • A white and blue dress for the hostess (with a red manicure of course)
  • Loads of sparklers
  • American flag bunting for the front porch
  • Strawberry shortcakes
  • Classic swing music
  • Hot dog and hamburger bar
  • Lawn chairs for lounging
  • Floral accents throughout the house

Does this sound too Hamptons to you? If it does, it’s because I was definitely picturing a house there! A girl can dream, right?

Anyway, I wish I could link all of my outfit details for you but I always recycle my wardrobe year after year. These items of been in my closet for years. They’re great staple pieces, you know? I’ll never part with them!

Leave me a comment with your favorite outfit and be sure to leave a link back to one of your 4th of July styles!
