Happy Wednesday girls! My photographer (aka “boyfriend”) wasn’t available for pictures so please excuse my iPhone usage. I hope your week is going nicely and you’re enjoying the sun though! It’s my second week “on the job” for my new company and I’m really liking it. Of course, the first few weeks are the easiest, but I think I’ll pretend it’ll be this great for awhile. You know, live in blissful ignorance? Anyway, since Labor Day has come and gone, I wanted to focus a post on tasteful ways to wear white after Labor Day. It’s such an old rule, but one that can be bent a little!
Wearing White After Labor Day
One of my favorite ways to incorporate white after Labor Day is white jeans or on my lazier days, white jeggings. I’m not sure if I’ll ever be totally on board with leggings or jeggings being worn in public but I must say, they are comfy! No Nonsense sent me a pair of their bright white jean leggings to try and I really liked them with my favorite red tunic top. It’s a simple look that makes a stylish statement. Best of all, it’s easy to wear!
If I’m going to wear something white during the fall or winter, I’ll pair it with seasonal colors so it won’t stand out as “oh my, she’s wearing white after Labor Day!”. For this outfit, I wore the red tunic and camel-colored peep toe heels with a plaid blanket scarf. If that doesn’t scream fall, I don’t know what does! In the same way, if it were winter I’d wear shades of blue, purple, and maybe even some pink. Simple little touches like these can completely transform an outfit.
White isn’t as taboo to wear after Labor Day as it once was. The old rules of dressing are slowly being changed with each generation. White is so clean and crisp anyway, why would you ban it even if it’s only for a season?

Such a great post! I love my white jeans so much that I’d hate to limit them to only half the year. I agree with pairing them with season appropriate colors to pull of the right look.

Two other teachers and I met for prayer group this morning and we realized all three of us were wearing white pants- Definitely don’t follow that rule! Love it with the red!

I’m totally with you–white denim year-round is a must! I love how it can make an outfit dressier or more casual depending on what you pair it with. Love how you did a bold red top! Glad your job is going great, too!!! 🙂
