Airport Necessities
As a seasoned traveler (ok, not really), I’ve learned to expect and prepare for flight delays due to weather, so I make sure to stuff my carry on with things to entertain me for awhile. TSA agents find this in my bag:
- A fashion magazine (preferably Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar)
- Bottled water (which they make me throw out)
- Bubble gum
- Ear buds
- Laptop and charger
- Travel pillow (not just for airplanes)
- Lilly Pulitzer Agenda (planners gonna plan!)
- Small make up bag (nothing over 3 oz.)
As far as my airport style goes, I have put a self-ban on sweatpants of any kind. I usually fly out of the DC airports and you never know who is going to be on your flight. Having lived in the capital and been taught the ins and outs of networking, you always have to look your best no matter where you are.
Typically, I wear flats similar to the Kate Spade mules above, dark wash jeans, and soft t shirt with a blazer over it. I’ve been trying to track down a blanket scarf and a cape for ages but can’t seem to find one that isn’t too expensive and in stock. I find that this airport uniform works for all seasons. If it’s winter, I’ll stick my coat in my carry on and wear my blazer, which is what I’m doing right now.
Here’s to looking fabulous on the fly!
Looks awesome! Good luck today!
